  • 8¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup baking powder
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 cups shortening
  1. Sift dry ingredients together in a large bowl or simply stir them well with a wire whisk.
  2. Add the shortening and cut in using a pastry cutter or the paddle attachment on your stand mixer. Keep going until the flour gets to a crumbly texture.
  3. Place in an airtight container and store in your pantry.
